Public health officials announced 281 new cases of COVID-19 and two deaths today, a woman in her 30’s from the Northern health region, and a man in his 80’s from the Southern Heath region.
Today’s COVID-19 data shows:
• 22 cases in the Interlake–Eastern health region
• nine cases in the Northern health region
• 46 cases in the Prairie Mountain Health region
• 26 cases in the Southern Health–Santé Sud health region
• 178 cases in the Winnipeg health region
There are 336 active cases in Prairie Mountain Health, and Dauphin has 15 active cases.
The current five-day COVID-19 test positivity rate is 7.7 percent provincially and 8.4 percent in Winnipeg.
The total number of lab-confirmed cases in Manitoba is 39,274
There are 2,540 active cases and 35,756 individuals who have recovered from COVID-19.
There are 105 people in hospital with COVID-19 and 62 people in hospital with COVID-19 who are no longer infectious but continue to require care, for a total of 167 hospitalizations.
There are 27 people in intensive care with COVID-19 and 13 people with COVID-19 who are no longer infectious but continue to require critical care, for a total of 40 ICU patients.
The total number of deaths in people with COVID-19 is 978.
According to the province’s data, there are active cases of COVID-19 in the following Parkland health districts: Dauphin (15), Riding Mountain (6), Swan River (4), Porcupine Mountain (79), Duck Mountain (1), Agassiz Mountain (71), Asessippi (2), Little Saskatchewan (39), Whitemud (9). Brandon has 68 active cases.
In the Interlake, the Eriksdale/Ashern health district has 14 active cases of COVID-19. The Fisher/Peguis health district has seven active cases.
