200 people in need almost went without an annual Christmas dinner put on by Parkland Crossing.

Some youth pranksters kept setting off the fire alarm, leaving the organization with fire call bills to pay.

Jamie Harvey, Director of Parkland Crossing, talks about the two local businesses that stepped up to help.

“Riehl Security has volunteered to station security guards at our location for the December 21 Food Bank and they will help monitor the situation,” noted Harvey. “Irving’s Catering is actually going to be cooking our Christmas banquet.  They have always wanted to do something for the community and support some of the work we do here and so they will be cooking the turkeys and potatoes and bringing that over to our location where we are going to be serving it.”

The Christmas meal is scheduled for December 21.
