Winnipeg has announced new rules for the taxi industry that will allow ride hailing services like Uber and Lyft to operate.
The new changes that go into effect on March 1st will also loosen some regulations for traditional taxi operators.
Mayor Brian Bowman says the changes will give consumers more choice.
But the taxi industry isn't happy, saying the new rules have been rushed and developed without enough consultation.
