Yesterday at approximately 4:30 pm, officers from the Dauphin RCMP received a report of a single-vehicle collision in Riding Mountain National Park, approximately eight kilometres south of the North gate.

Investigators believe a pickup truck, being driven by a 24-year-old male from Dauphin, was southbound on Highway 10 when it struck a concrete retaining wall and descended down a ravine.

The driver was not wearing his seatbelt and was ejected from the vehicle and pronounced deceased at the scene.

Highway 10 in the National Park was closed for several hours for the investigation.
