Roquette celebrated its groundbreaking of the new pea protein plant in Portage la Prairie yesterday.
The company is investing over four hundred million dollars to build the facility which is expected to employ around 150 people with production to begin in 2019.
Pea protein is known as a great source of protein for gluten-free, vegetarian, sports and slimming foods as well as senior and clinical nutrition.
