Construction for the new pea-protein manufacturing site in Portage has been announced.
Construction is planned to begin in 2019.
It was announced by the French company Roquette, as they held their ground-breaking ceremony for its new plant.
The project was announced back in January of 2017 and it will cost about $400 million to build. This project is the largest pea processing facility in Manitoba.
The site is expected to employ around 150 people.
