Manitoba NDP leader Wab Kinew is ready to be the leader the party needs as well as a representative for all Manitobans.

He believes rural health care play a huge role in providing important lifesaving services and wants to focus on keeping services and doctors in rural areas.

Kinew address the questions about his past that the opposition has tried to use against him.

“Just with a bigger focus and stepping back for a bit, I would say I have always been upfront about the fact that I have had years when I was 19, 20, 21, where I was not on a good path,” explained Kinew.  “I was doing a lot of things that were harmful to myself and others in terms of partying and you know struggling with addictions, getting in trouble with the law and wasting my potential, but you know I recognized that I needed to change.  I was the one who made that decision and I worked really hard over the following decade to put myself onto a positive path and you know I cannot change my past, so I changed myself.  That helped me get into a position where I was ready to enter public service and ready to lead.  So who I am today and the person that was chosen to lead the party of Manitoba is the man that I am now.”

He hopes to rebuild the trust with voters and rebuild the party to represent what Manitobans need to thrive.
