The median income in Dauphin has grown immensely over the past 10 years.

This is according to Stats Canada. In 2015 the median income for individuals was 31 thousand 570 dollars compared to 21, 533 in 2005. For Dauphin Mayor Eric Irwin this rise is noticeable everywhere you look.
“If you look around most of the empty storefronts have been filled in. as a matter of fact right across the street from my office on Main Street here there’s a business that has expanded next door into a building that had been empty for a few years, an old café. And as we speak they’re busy fixing that up and expanding it.”

Mayor Irwin also said, “I think more people have been spending money in town and there has been some expansion.”

The mayor says Dauphin’s economy is diversified and can support a whole host of different industries such as the thriving professional sector. The median total income of two-or-more-person households in 2015 is 73,509 compared to 58,961 in 2005.
