The 110th installment of the Royal Manitoba Winter Fair has officially come to an end.

General Manager at the Provincial Exhibition Ron Kristjansson reported 112,000 visits over the six day event seeing an overall weekly attendance increase for the third year in a row.

For Kristjansson the fair covers many aspects of life in Manitoba, emphasizing the importance of the retaining the province's agricultural roots.

"For a lot of these people this is their only chance to meet the farm [...] we found with a little bit of survey work we've done with fair goers they want to learn about farming, they want to learn about where their food is coming from so our partnership with all the town groups to bring that to town for them I think is a huge draw."

President of the Provincial Exhibition of Manitoba Kathy Cleaver also says, "The mission of the Provincial Exhibition and all of our events is to educate youth about the importance of Agriculture."

The Provincial Exhibition of Manitoba produces three annual events -- the Royal Manitoba Winter Fair, the Manitoba Summer Fair and Manitoba Ag Ex.
