This Saturday, Dauphin's Ukrainian Young Men's Society will be having a Malanka to ring in the new year according to the Julian calendar.

Starting at 5 pm at the 8th Avenue hall here in Dauphin, the celebrations will begin.

Ryan Rauliuc is a member of the Ukrainian Young Men's Society and he says there will be plenty of activities to enjoy this Saturday.

"Food, dancing, singing and a live band and music. It's out with the old year, and in with the new year, and it's Ukrainian New Years."

The food for the event will include a traditional 13 course dinner, and a midnight lunch.
