A person in custody at the Dauphin Correctional Centre has died.
A spokesperson from Manitoba Justice has confirmed the death, but for reasons of privacy very limited information is available to the public at the moment.
What we do know is that the family of the deceased has been notified of the situation, and the death has been reported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner as required by law.
An internal review is under way with support and counselling offered to affected staff at DCC.
