Heavy rain has caused a state of a emergency in Estevan, Saskatchewan.
At least 130 millimetres of rain fell on the city during a storm yesterday, which caused roads and basements to flood in minutes.
Resident of the town, Shawn Saxon says his house wasn't affected but, his street and neighbours were.
"For flash floods they get hit hard, and unfortunately I believe there's at least the whole block of where I live they've had anywhere from two feet to five feet of water in their basements."
The last thing the town needs is more rain, but that's what's in the forecast.
Environment Canada warning preparedness meteorologist Natalie Hasell says more rain is heading into the Prairies from North Dakota, and in some places thunderstorms, too.
"Under a thunderstorm you can get really significant amounts of precipitation but on a very local scale. So, the issue now because they are embedded is that, from the ground you can't really tell right, it's just raining everywhere. The fact that one area has slightly more intense precipitation might not be obvious until you're under it."
Hasell says she doesn't have exact numbers, but she doesn't think Manitoba is expecting anywhere near the rain forecast for Saskatchewan.
Parts of that province are looking at 70-100 millimetres by Wednesday.
