The president and CEO of the Manitoba Chamber of Commerce is learning about the challenges facing businesses in the province.
Chuck Davidson is getting a tour of some Dauphin businesses today.
He says the idea isn't to leave Dauphin thinking of ways to fix all the local business problems, but as he tours Manitoba, he looks for consistencies between different communities.
"I guarantee I'm going to hear today that 'our business is having a challenge keeping young people in our community' or 'we're having challenges keeping workers that we need,' that's something I consistently hear."
Davidson isn't visiting any farms today. He says he does speak with farmers, but not a lot of them; one challenge he's heard is a lack of workers.
