With soil temperatures not yet at freezing, Manitoba Conservation and Water Stewardship is extending the deadline on winter nutrient applications.

A ban is normally in place by tomorrow, but the province is pushing that to Saturday.

Nutrient applications must follow certain conditions. For example, people should not apply when the weather outlook is bad. Nutrients are also not to be applied to poorly or very poorly drained soils.

There are more conditions, which can be found online at manitoba.ca/nutrientdates.
