It's been almost a year since the municipal amalgamations took effect across Manitoba, and the mayor of the municipality of Ste. Rose says they've received a lack of support from the province to help with the process.

Robert Brunel says this was a big topic of discussion in the meeting they had with the Association of Manitoba Municipalities last week.

"There was talk that there would be a lot of support from the province, but we really didn't see a lot and we used the talents around our table and within our staff to come up with solutions to the issues we had arise through amalgamation and found our own solutions, so we talked a bit about that."

Brunel says there was also talks about municipal infrastructure, including a project they're finalizing to hook up their rural water system to the town water system.
