A company that makes mapping and navigation products just got a fresh look at the Dauphin area.

A TomTom vehicle was spotted in Dauphin recently, and it's believed it was one of their mobile mapping cars.

Nick Cohn, TomTom's Senior Traffic Expert, says they have a fleet of those vehicles which drive around the world to improve their maps.

"Because obviously the world is changing constantly and specifically for navigation if you're driving on a road and it's not included in the map or something about it is wrong or is missing or there are new roads, we want to fix that and make sure that the quality is good."

Cohn says a lot of people provide them with content and information, but they still need to keep their database and maps up to date by driving, measuring, and recording.
