One of the main events of the Winnipegosis Centennial is just over a week away.

The Canadian Snowbirds will perform in the community on July 8.

Centennial committee member Barret Procyshyn says ticket sales for the snowbird show are starting to pick up.

"For $10 it's a really good deal for you and your family to come see an airshow. It's their only stop in Manitoba, and we're one of the lowest priced tickets in their whole show year, so grab them fast because they are selling fast."

Procyshyn says it was a lengthy process just getting the snowbirds to come to the community, but he says it will be worth it for this rare opportunity.

"When I had to apply for this process a couple of years ago, you had to come up with something different about why should the snowbirds come to your community. Growing up in Winnipegosis, I know that when a plane flies by, kids and people get excited. We don't see planes in this area, so to have a snowbird show in our small town, it's a once in a lifetime opportunity so you have to be there to see it."

Tickets can be purchased in advance at winnipegosis100th.com, Catalyst Credit Union, Dauphin Clinic Pharmacy, Coffee Creations and at various businesses in Winnipegosis for just $10, or get them at the gate for $15.
