The Canadian National Institute for the Blind is bringing their Mobile Hub to Dauphin on Wednesday, October 28th from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM. It'll be at the Dauphin Recreation Complex in the Curler's Lounge.

La-Toya Gibbons, Program Lead for Mobile Hubs and Wellness, said the mobile hub will offer a lot of valuable information to people who are blind or have vision impairments.

"A CNIB Mobile Hub is a community-based outreach initiative that brings services and information and support directly to people who are blind or partially sighted, or experiencing any form of sight loss...rather than requiring individuals to travel to a central location like Winnipeg, mobile hubs connect with people and resources, technology, demonstrations, peer support, and community programming closer to where they actually live," said Gibbons.

Gibbons strongly encourages anyone who is either blind or vision impaired, and their families, caregivers, and friends to attend and learn more.

Mobile hubs are a great way for the CNIB to bring services directly to anyone who can make use of them, and have services right in the community.

"The people that we encourage to access our mobile hub services are people living with that sight loss, but also their family, and their caregivers, and anyone else who's interested in learning more about vision health...we created these mobile hubs because transportation, geography, and accessibility barriers prevent people from accessing certain services, so with a mobile hub, it helps to bridge those gaps, and bring the support directly into their community," said Gibbons.

The CNIB prefers if you register in advance, but walk-ins are welcome.
