The City of Dauphin is brining back Fall Clean-Up, on October 13th.
Christian Laughland, City Councillor, said the project is designed to help residents get rid of their yard waste in the fall, and they've been doing it a while.
"The Fall Clean-Up Campaign is just yard waste, it's got to be free of garbage, recyclables, and hazardous materials, obviously you can put all that in a neat identifiable pile, or use biodegradable bags and boxes...we used to have to the Spring Clean-Up Campaign, we don't have that anymore, so obviously the Fall Clean-Up Campaign is going to be a little bit more intense because it's just one clean-up campaign, rather than the two we used to head up over the years," said Laughland.
This year's Fall Clean-Up takes place on October 13th, and pickup starts in the Day 1 Area for waste and recycling collection. You're able to put out grass, leaves, garden waste, and shrubs and tree branches that are less than 6 inches in diameter, and less than 8 feet long. Any yard waste must be put in clear piles, or in biodegradable boxes or bags. The City also asks that branches are piled parallel to the curb, not sticking into the road.
"One pass, it's going to take place on Tuesday, October 13th, and it starts in the Day 1 Area for garbage and recycling, obviously and yard waste pickup," said Laughland.
