Last weekend was great for Dauphinites looking to clear up some space in their homes, or find bargains around the City - or both!
Christian Laughland, City Councillor, said the annual Giveaway Weekend went very well, and the weather certainly boosted how the City showed out.
"It's been a really good success for a number of years now, and the weather was pretty good over the weekend too, so I saw a lot of people have items on their front boulevard, and areas in front of their homes," said Laughland.
Laughland said at this point, the Giveaway Weekend has been run so much and it's become such a staple of the community, that City staff have it down to a science.
"It's been run so many times now it's basically a routine for the staff, I mean the staff do a great job of getting the word out, whether it be on Facebook, or through the media like CKDM, the Dauphin Herald," said Laughland.
The City is applying all the knowledge gained from running the Giveaway Weekend for years to the newly-created City-wide Yard Sale Weekend; the second annual one happened earlier this year.
