The latest Manitoba Agriculture Crop Report highlights excellent crop development across the Province and in the Northwest region, with harvest getting underway for some fall rye and winter wheat crops in the Northwest.

Soil crusting still continues as soils dry. Both field and infrastructure repair continue across the region, and while field access is still a challenge in some areas with washouts, many roads are passable again.

Fall rye and winter wheat are mature for the most part, with harvest starting in some parts of the region. Pre-harvest applications have started in winter cereals.

Field peas range from the R5 to R6 stage, and continue moving towards maturity. Canola fields still range in stages, with most crops now in the podding stage. Later seeded fields and fields under excess moisture still catch up, with fields that experienced excess moisture having some patches of delayed growth. The most advanced soybean crops in the region have moved to R4 stage, with the rest of crops following behind.
