Dauphin RCMP have released details of a rather unusual theft in Gilbert Plains, with a hole-in-one ending.
Earlier this month, a golfer from Gilbert Plains reported that his golf cart had been stolen from the local course. Officers in Dauphin and Russell were notified, and told to watch out for the stolen golf cart.
On Friday, the golfer visited the RCMP detachment to let them know it wasn't a theft at all, just a case of mistaken identity. The golfer's cart was mistakenly picked up by the course for service at a local garage. Once returned from the garage to the Gilbert Plains Golf Course, the golfer was reunited with his cart.
It could have been a lot worse for the Gilbert Plains golfer, but at least now he has an un-fore-gettable memory of his local course.
