Hot, dry conditions allowed for good seeding progress across the Northwest region this past week.
According to the latest Manitoba Agriculture Crop Report, soybeans were the main target with the approaching MASC deadlines.
Soybean seeding is now 90 per cent complete in the region, as are field peas.
Spring wheat seeding is about 55 per cent complete, with some of the earliest seeded wheat already emerging and in the two-leaf stage.
Canola seeding is about 25 per cent complete in the region.
Across the province, 71 per cent of this year's crop is in the ground.
That is behind both last year's pace of 95 per cent, and the five-year average of 85 per cent.
