It's almost time for one of Dauphin's favourite fundraising efforts: Tim Hortons Smile Cookie Week.

Greg Crisanti, owner of the Dauphin Tim Hortons, said preparations are already well underway, and he's looking forward to keeping the record high number of dollars raised going strong.

"Yeah, we're really excited, starts Monday, runs right through until Sunday at midnight...definitely Dauphin Tim Hortons is on the map, as far as franchisees across the country with Tim Hortons. We definitely break the record books, and we've always placed the last three, four years at the top five, number one across the chain [in 2024] and we were second last year," said Crisanti.

In deciding this year's charity of choice, Cristanti opened his ears and listened to the Dauphin community. This year's "charity" is something near and dear to almost everyone in Dauphin.

"We're extemely happy to donate the funds to the Dauphin Community Cinema this year, can't wait to see what kind of results we're getting in...the Dauphin community was very strong and loud, as to our charity of choice should be the Community Cinema. We listened, we knew they were struggling at the time, and hopefully these funds will get them through even longer and help them out, so we're really excited to partner with them," said Crisanti.

Tim Hortons said their 2025 Smile Cookie campaign raised more than $22.6 million for more than 600 charities, community groups and hospitals across the country.
