According to the provincial highway traffic act, children in a vehicle must be in a booster seat until they are either 4-foot-9 in height, weigh 80 pounds, or turn 9 years old.
A 21-year-old female driver from Swan River learned that lesson the hard way on Saturday night.
An officer with the Swan River detachment noticed two very young children in the back seat of a vehicle on Main Street, neither of which were in a booster seat.
The driver now has to pay a $298 fine as a result.
