On April 2, at approximately 3:05 p.m., Russell RCMP responded after a van collided with three parked cars in Rossburn.
This occurred on Victoria Avenue, with investigators determining the van was driving at a high rate of speed, and caused severe damage to all four of the vehicles involved.
Soon after, the RCMP learned that the male suspect who matched the description of the driver had just assaulted a male nearby. Around 30 minutes after the first occasion, multiple bystanders had pointed out the suspect and waved down officers.
Lawrence Shingoose was then charged with assault causing bodily harm, uttering threats, failing to stop after an accident, impaired driving, and operating a vehicle while over .08.
