A longtime CKDM on-air personality has passed away.
Bruce Leperre, who spent around 30 years in a number of roles at CKDM, passed away on Tuesday at the age of 65.
Bruce started his legendary career here shortly after graduating from the National Institute of Broadcasting in 1979.
Besides serving a number of on-air roles, including morning host and later host of the weekly program "No Fences," Bruce was also a longtime Music Director and Program Director at CKDM.
He was recognized on both the national and provincial stage, as the Canadian Country Music Association named him their Secondary Market Music Director and On-air Personality of the Year in 2005, and was a two-time Manitoba Country Music Association On-air Personality of the Year, and was inducted into the Manitoba Country Music Hall of Fame in 2021.
