Manitoba Merv, a groundhog puppet at Oak Hammock Marsh, saw his shadow as he gave his yearly prediction Monday morning.
According to folk lore, that means at least six more weeks of winter.
Since 2000, Manitoba Merv has had a 73 per cent success rate with his predictions, the highest success rate among Canadian groundhogs.
