Dry conditions in many regions in Manitoba have been worrying farmers, and at least one Parkland municipality is facing conditions troubling enough to declare a state of emergency.
In a post on their Facebook page, the Municipality of Glenella-Landsdowne declared a state of agricultural emergency due to severe drought conditions affecting crops, hay land, and pasture.
The post added that Council is urgently requesting immediate support from the Federal and Provincial governments, including tax deferrals, feed shortage assistance, and freight support.
