The Grandview Comets capped off a great playoff run last night, and are now the Champions of the NCHL.
The Comets beat Miniota-Elkhorn, 5-4 in double overtime to sweep the best of five series.
Jason Shaw played hero in the game scoring the OT winner.
Jerron Kyle notched two goals for the club, while Devron Jakeman, and Luke Stokotelny scored one each.
The Comets now advance to the Senior A Provincials which begin next Thursday in Rivers. The team then travels to Winnipeg next Saturday.
Comets captain, TJ Warkentin will join 730CKDM tomorrow to share his reaction.

The Dauphin AA Bantam Kings and Swan Valley Stampeders are going the distance.
The Stampeders scored the only goal in the game just over a couple minutes into overtime to win, 1-0.
Ben Talbot was exceptional between the pipes for the Kings making several very good saves.
The two teams will now meet tomorrow night to decide a Champion and the game will be played in Swan River.

The Dauphin AA Bantam Kings can win the Parkissimo Hockey League tonight on home ice!
The Kings welcome Swan Valley in game two of the best of three series after winning last night, 4-1.
"The kids came out and played really hard from the first to the last whistle last night," said Jason Gibbs, Coach. "They're pumped up. They want the Championship, and I think they're going to come out even harder tonight."
It's been quite the last couple of weeks for Dauphin. On March 11th, the team won the Provincial Championships in the Pas, but tonight's game will be the first time this season the team has the chance to win a Championship on home ice.
"It's going to be a really exciting game for the kids," said Gibbs. "This is the biggest game we've played in Dauphin all season. It would definitely be icing on the cake if we can finish it off in front of the home crowd tonight."
Besides the Parkland Cup this upcoming weekend, tonight's game will be one of the last competitive games in Dauphin this hockey season, and there are lots of reasons to head down to the rink.
"It's really good hockey, and it's one of the final games in Dauphin this season in general," said Gibbs. "If fans want a good fast-paced brand of hockey, Credit Union Place is the place to be tonight."
The puck drops at 7:15.

The Grandview Comets have been on a quest to win a Championship all season long, and tonight they have that chance.
The team heads to the Elkhorn Arena to take on the #1 ranked Miniota-Elkhorn C-Hawks and with a win, they would win the league.
In the first two games of the series, the Comets have continued their offensive presence scoring 10 goals and between the pipes, Danny McDonald has been very good.
The C-Hawks went 12-1-3 in the regular season, and despite being up 2-0, Comets Captain TJ Warkentin expects a big push tonight in Elkhorn.
"I'm expecting a massive push," said Warkentin. "A series-clinching game is always the hardest one to win. We know they're going to come out hard, but we have to also come out hard and not give them any confidence. We have to give ourselves every opportunity to win this one."
Gametime tonight is set for 8:30.

The Dauphin Bantam AA Kings are one win away from another Championship.
The team kicked off their Parkissimo Hockey League final with a 4-1 win over Swan Valley tonight.
Jake Strang, Carson Sokolan, Kayden Bodnar, and Rylan Gibbs scored one each for the Kings in the win.
The Kings will now look to wrap it up tomorrow night on home ice at 7:15 at Credit Union Place.

If you're a parent or young hockey player and you want to know how you could make it to the next level, you'll get your chance on Monday, March 26th.
The General Manager of the Brandon Wheat Kings Grant Armstrong will be in town answering questions at a Q&A Event which is held at the Lion's Den.
"I want to provide some information to parents on the direction of the game," said Armstrong. "And, just the ins and outs of what it takes to play in the WHL."
The event is one day before the Wheat Kings play game three of their first-round series against Medicine Hat.
"There is a lot of information out there, but I think it's important that everyone has the right information," said Armstrong.
Armstrong who was hired by the Wheat Kings in late-2016 says sharing some of his knowledge and passion for the game is what he loves to do.
"I think it's important to give back," said Armstrong. "We want players to have the right information they need, so when they're trying to get to the next level they have it readily available."
The event takes place at 7:30 at the Lion's Den and it's free to attend.

The Dauphin Bantam AA Kings kick off their Championship series tonight against Swan Valley.
The series pits the top two teams in the Parkissimo League as Swan finished first, while Dauphin was second.
In the playoffs so far, both teams have cruised through their opponents going a combined 8-0.
In two meetings in the regular season, Swan Valley won both games by a combined score of 8-4.

Dauphin's William Hlady is well into his first season of college baseball with the Iowa Wesleyan Tigers and it's going very well.
"Things are going pretty good," said Hlady. "The transition from Manitoba to out here was definitely different. Everyone's a lot bigger down here, and we use metal bats."
The 18-year-old Freshman has pitched in six games totalling 6.1 innings, and his 2.84 ERA is second on the team. Opponent's are batting just .208 against Hlady, and he's racked up four strikeouts while going 2-0.
"I'm just going up there and not looking to strikeout batters," said Hlady. "I'm looking for groundouts or flyballs. I'm just trying to make things as easy as possible for myself."
Despite playing Division III this year, Hlady has plans on moving up to Division II or I, and he knows the success he's had this year will help him.
"The success this year will definitely help me going forward," said Hlady. "I'm just getting more confidence as I go, and we have some great coaches that are teaching me a lot of new things, and how to be successful on the mound."
Playing ball in the states has not only given Hlady a chance to pitch against some of the top hitters around America, but the views are something he's also enjoying.
"The travelling aspect is a lot of fun," said Hlady. "We've been to St. Louis and Kentucky, so that's been really cool."
Hlady and the rest of the Tigers (6-7) continue their busy schedule tomorrow when they're in Illinois for a two-game trip against Blackburn College.
The club will be looking to get back on track during the set. They've lost six of their last seven games after starting the season with a 5-1 record.

A perfect weekend means Dauphin's Lane Prokopowich is heading to the Canola Growers Junior Provincial Championships.
Prokopowich plays lead for a team from Winnipeg, and the foursome went 3-0 to earn the spot.
"I'm kind of overwhelmed," said Prokopowich. "We didn't really know what to expect heading into the qualifier. It's definitely a relief to get the spot so early."
The 2019 Canola Growers Junior Provincial Championships will be January 2-9, 2019 and will feature 16 women's teams from around the province.
"I'm super excited to play with this team at the competition," said Prokopowich. "We all just want to have fun, play our best and hopefully it works out."
The Championships are in Melita.

Dauphin's Hanne Jensen is heading back to the Canola Growers Junior Provincial Championships.
The foursome based out of Winnipeg lost their first game but rattled off three straight wins to earn the berth.
"It definitely means a lot to me and the team," said Jensen. "Winning the spot so early gives us so much more confidence going into next season."
With this curling season nearing an end, when the ice goes back in next September, the team will be going all out to prepare for the Championships.
"We're going to be practicing a bunch," said Jensen. "We'll also go in as many MJCT tournaments as we can, and we're playing in a league."
Jensen played on Team Brooke Friesen this past Championships and missed the playoffs by one game (4-3).
"The playing field is going to be very even this go around," said Jensen. "Even with all the tough competition out there, I have a feeling we're going to do very well this time."
The 2019 Canola Growers Junior Provincial Championships are January 2-9, 2019.

Swan River's Rick Wowchuk is heading into the Manitoba Football Hall of Fame.
Wowchuk spent his coaching tenure with the Swan River Tigers of the Manitoba Rural Football League.
"I'm both honoured and humbled," said Wowchuk. "I look back and think off all the suppers and family time I missed, but I wouldn't change a thing. I had the passion, and I loved it and being inducted into the HOF is definitely a big honour for me."
Just eight other individuals will be introduced into the HOF on Wednesday, which includes former Chicago Bear Israel Idonije, and current CFL Commissioner Randy Ambrosie.
"It definitely came as a surprise," said Wowchuk. "Especially seeing all of the other inductees. When I found out, I was speechless."
Rick coached more than 32 years, several of which were very successful.
"We won five Provincial Championships in the 1990's, so that was definitely a highlight," said Wowchuk. "Then to see some of the kids move on and play at the next level. Those are memories that I will never forget."
On top of being introduced into the HOF on Wednesday, Wowchuk will join the rest of the Inductees in September in Winnipeg at the HOF Induction Ceremony.
