The Parkland Rangers hit the road for the first time on Tuesday evening, and they will return to Dauphin winners as they beat Yellowhead, 5-3.
First Period
It was another strong start for the Rangers as Reece Hopfner got the team on the board just 1:17 into the game.
Seven minutes later, Carter Cockburn scored his third of the season as the Rangers took a 2-0 lead.
The Chiefs came back with two goals in the opening periods last five minutes as the teams went into the dressing room after 20 tied at two.
Second Period
The Rangers scored the only goal of the second period off the stick of Taron Topham at the 5:33 mark on the powerplay as the Rangers had a 3-2 lead after 40.
Third Period
The Chiefs added one goal in the third period, but the Rangers outdid them by scoring two off the sticks of Kurtis Luke and Warren Jubenville as the Rangers skated off with a 5-3 win.
Game Facts
Yellowhead outshot the Rangers, 37-26.
With the win, goaltender Zach Grouette picked up his first win as a Ranger, and first win playing in Midget AAA.
