It's been a long grind, but Dauphin's Mark Liwiski can say he made the most of it as he will stay with the Everett Silvertips to begin the season.

"It's finally concluded after preseason," said Liwiski. "Our regular season kicks off this weekend against Portland, so I'm pretty pumped up to get the regular season going."

The process of making the Silvertips began in late August for Liwiski, which included several exhibition games as well as practices.

"You meet guys from all over Canada and the United States," said Liwiski. "Meeting your new coaches, and I just recently switched billet families, so it was exciting to meet them and I'm going to school as well. It's been a great experience so far."

Liwiski is also attending school in the morning at Everett High. He then heads right to the rink for practice, followed by team workouts.

"It's kind of a grind, but it's how the league works with 72 games," said Liwiski. "You really just have to stay on top of your school work, and really just everything you do. It's a busy schedule, but it will all work out.

Last year, Everett won the U.S Division with a 44-16-9 record, and they were 5-2 in the preseason that just wrapped up.
