Former Dauphin King Emerson Hrynyk has signed a professional contract to play for the Dundee Stars who play in the Elite Ice Hockey League that is based in the United Kingdom.

"I'm really excited about it, I've never left North America, so it's going to be great." said Hrynyk.

Hrynyk played for the Kings for two seasons from 2011-2013, and recorded 31 points in 107 games while on the back end for the Kings. Hrynyk also racked up 221 regular season penalty minutes, and another 35 playoff penalty minutes for the Kings during his two seasons here.

"It was great, I really enjoyed myself. My best memory was beating OCN in the second round in game 7 at home in my 20 year old year," said Hrynyk. "But it was my teammates, the coaching staff, billets, and fans that made it a great place to play Junior hockey."

For the past several seasons, Hrynyk has been playing for the Mount Royal University hockey team where he played 88 games, and put up 19 points and 87 penalty minutes.

"Mount Royal was a great time and a good experience," said Hrynyk. "I learned a lot both on the ice and off the ice in the classroom and just grew as a person."

Currently, Hrynyk is in St.Johns, Newfoundland playing in Ball Hockey Nationals. To keep up to date with how he does this season with the Stars, visit their website at dundeestars.com
