As all adults in Manitoba are now eligible for the COVID-19 vaccine, 48.1 percent have received their first dose.

Public health officials have announced that Manitoba has broken its single-day record with 560 new cases of COVID-19, and three deaths.

Today’s deaths are from two women over the age of 60 from the prairie mountain health region, and one man in his 70s from the Winnipeg region.

All deaths were linked to the B.1.1.7. variant of concern.

Dauphin now has 26 active cases.

There have been 77 recoveries and 4 deaths in Dauphin since the beginning of the pandemic.

Today’s COVID-19 data shows:   
•    38 cases in the Interlake-Eastern health region 
•    27 cases in the Northern health region    
•    34 cases in the Prairie Mountain Health region    
•    30 cases in the Southern Health-Santé Sud health region 
•    431 cases in the Winnipeg health region

There have been 5,210 variant cases in the province, 1,974 of which are active.

Prairie Mountain Health has had 480 variant cases, 367 of the B.1.1.7. strain, one of the B.1.3.5.1. strain, and 112 unspecified.

The current five-day COVID-19 test positivity rate is 12 percent provincially and 14.4 percent in Winnipeg.

There are 4,046 active cases and 38,652 individuals who have recovered from COVID-19.

The total number of deaths in people with COVID-19 in the province is now at 1,002.

There are 183 people in hospital with active COVID-19 and 57 people in hospital who are no longer infectious but continue to require care, for a total of 240 hospitalizations.  

There are 49 people in intensive care units with active COVID-19 and 13 people who are no longer infectious but continue to require critical care, for a total of 62 ICU patients. 

According to the province’s data, there are active cases of COVID-19 in the following Parkland health districts: Dauphin (26), Riding Mountain (6), Swan River (2), Porcupine Mountain (28), Agassiz Mountain (62), Asessippi (15), Little Saskatchewan (39), Whitemud (19). Brandon has 97 active cases.

In the Interlake, the Eriksdale/Ashern health district has 23 active cases of COVID-19. The Fisher/Peguis health district has 9 active cases.
