Vaccination efforts are ramping up in the province, as 46.8 percent of Manitobans over the age of 18 have had their first dose of the vaccine.

Today public health officials announced 364 new cases of COVID-19, and three deaths in the province.

Today’s deaths are from a female in her 50s from the Prairie Mountain Health region, a man in his 60s from the Winnipeg Health region, and a man in his 70s from the Interlake-Eastern Health region.

‘All deaths were linked to variants of concern.

The total number of deaths in people with COVID-19 in the province is now at 1,000.

Dauphin now has 18 active cases.

There have been 74 recoveries and 3 deaths in Dauphin since the beginning of the pandemic.

Today’s COVID-19 data shows:   
•    50 cases in the Interlake-Eastern health region 
•    10 cases in the Northern health region    
•    34 cases in the Prairie Mountain Health region    
•    47 cases in the Southern Health-Santé Sud health region 
•    223 cases in the Winnipeg health region

There have been 4,822 variant cases in the province, 1,828 of which are active.

Prairie Mountain Health has had 449 variant cases, 348 of the B.1.1.7. strain, one of the B.1.3.5.1. strain, and 100 unspecified.

The current five-day COVID-19 test positivity rate is 12.1 percent provincially and 14.4 percent in Winnipeg.

There are 3,940 active cases and 38,203 individuals who have recovered from COVID-19.

There are 162 people in hospital with active COVID-19 and 59 people in hospital who are no longer infectious but continue to require care, for a total of 221 hospitalizations.  

There are 50 people in intensive care units with active COVID-19 and 12 people who are no longer infectious but continue to require critical care, for a total of 62 ICU patients. 

According to the province’s data, there are active cases of COVID-19 in the following Parkland health districts: Dauphin (18), Riding Mountain (3), Swan River (2), Porcupine Mountain (60), Agassiz Mountain (66), Asessippi (15), Little Saskatchewan (43), Whitemud (19). Brandon has 99 active cases.

In the Interlake, the Eriksdale/Ashern health district has 23 active cases of COVID-19. The Fisher/Peguis health district has 11 active cases.
