Public health officials announced 164 new cases of COVID-19 and one death today, a man in his 50s from the Northern Health region.

There have been a total of 36,632 cases and a total of 961 deaths in the province.

Dauphin now has 3 active cases.

Today’s new COVID-19 cases are in the following health regions
• 15 cases in the Interlake–Eastern health region 
• 30 cases in the Northern health region  
• 19 cases in the Prairie Mountain Health region
• 24 cases in the Southern Health–Santé Sud health region
• 76 cases in the Winnipeg health region

There are 774 variant of concern cases in the province.

Prairie Mountain Health still has 36 variant cases, 30 are the B.1.1.7., one is the B.1.3.5.1., and 5 are unspecified.

There are 1,833 active cases and 33,838 individuals who have recovered from COVID-19.

There are 72 people in hospital with active COVID-19 and 65 people in hospital who are no longer infectious but continue to require care, for a total of 137 hospitalizations.

There are 18 people in intensive care units with active COVID-19 and 16 people who are no longer infectious but continue to require critical care, for a total of 34 ICU patients.

According to the province’s data, there are active cases of COVID-19 in the following Parkland health districts: Swan River (2), Porcupine Mountain (62), Dauphin (3), Riding Mountain (1), Duck Mountain (3), Agassiz Mountain (1), Asessippi (3), Little Saskatchewan (2), Whitemud (6). Brandon has 21 active cases.

In the Interlake, the Eriksdale/Ashern health district has one active case of COVID-19. The Fisher/Peguis health district has five active cases.
