Many people throughout southern Manitoba report seeing a massive fireball in the southeastern sky at around 9:30 last night, including Marlys Schott of Woodlands, just north of Winnipeg.

"I was just sitting in my living room and all of a sudden, I look and there's this huge star falling and it was blue, and green, and just going really fast.  It was massive and you could watch it just falling, and I actually said: I wonder where they're going to find it."

Though many meteor showers occur throughout the year, the Quadrantids are well-known for their spectacular display of colourful fireballs.
