This day is going onto it's fifth year and last year the volunteer group was able to raise $12,000 and this year they are hoping to do the same.

Volunteer for Boxes of Love, Nicole Yunker says that you can donate money and there is a wide variety of other things you can donate.

"We are providing all the schools supplies needed for 120 students in Nadvirna, Ukraine. We look for everything from pens and pencils, to brand new pairs of running shoes, backpacks, and art supplies."

Over the past four years, Boxes of Love has raised over $42,000.

Yunker adds that you don't have to donate large items and that every little bit helps.

"One of the questions that has been asked is 'what if I only have five pencils to donate?' If everyone donated five pencils or five pens or five pairs of shoes, we would easily make our goal. We are not looking for large donations, it's all the small donations. Those are the things that make it possible for us to reach our goal."

Yunker says this is an incredibly rewarding thing they do for the kids in Ukraine.

"We can't emphasis enough what it means to a child when they know they are loved and supported both through the school staff and the people of the Parkland. The children know about the Parkland, and they feel the love, it's not just the donations."

The collection day is on June 1st at the Dauphin Marketplace mall from 10am-5pm.
