ISIS Attack Kills Dozens in Syria
 
Syrian state TV says at least 65 people have been killed in a series of suicide bombings and explosions in the coastal cities of Tartus and Jableh, strongholds of President Bashar Assad.

At least one suicide bomber and a car bomb blew up minutes apart in a packed bus station in Tartus, killing more than 20 people.

And four explosions rocked Jableh, including three rockets and a suicide bomber at a city hospital.

The so-called Islamic State has claimed responsibility for the multiple attacks.

K-9 Unit Brought Out in Brandon Church Incident
 
Police in Manitoba say they had to send a dog in after a man accused of breaking into a church.

The intruder was reported by a retired Brandon police officer on Saturday night, who said he saw a man smash a window and enter the church.

Police called into the building numerous times and told the suspect to exit if he was still inside, but he didn't respond, and that's when a police K-9 team was used to clear the building.

A man was arrested and faces numerous charges.

Dauphinites, Get Your Yard Waste Ready for Pick-up
 
Spring clean-up begins tomorrow in the City of Dauphin.
 
Crews will make one pass through the city, beginning with the Day 1 area for garbage-pickup.
 
Pick-up will be in back lanes wherever possible, otherwise it will be on the boulevard near the curb.
 
Spring-clean up is for yard and garden waste only, which should be placed in a clearly identifiable pile.

2016 Manito Ahbee Festival Concludes
 
One of North America's largest powwows has wrapped up for another year in Winnipeg.

The Manito Ahbee Festival began in 2005, and this year the five-day festival moved to the new expansion of the R-B-C Convention Centre.

Manito Ahbee means "where the creator sits'' in Ojibwa and Manitoba's name is derived from the word.

Dancers competed in several categories for prizes totalling $180,000 in payouts, and top drumming groups were invited including groups from Minnesota and Alberta.

Bayer Looks to Buy Monsanto
 
German drug and chemicals company Bayer says it's made a $62-billion offer to buy US-based crops and seeds specialist Monsanto.

Bayer says the acquisition -- quote -- "would be a compelling opportunity to create a global agriculture leader, while reinforcing Bayer as a life science company with a deepened position in a long-term growth industry.''
