No surprise that Ryan Dreger was named the league's Scoring Champion, 31 goals and 31 assists put him on top of the NCHL with 62 points.

The Comets netminding duo of Danny McDonald and Tim Williams took the Top Goalies Award, they combined for a goals against average of 2.33 in the regular season.

Grandview's playoff series with Russell resumes Friday night at the GACC. The Comets lead the best of five set 2-0. Puck drop is 8:30pm.

Grandview Comets’ forward Luke Stokotelny was named the most valuable player in the North Central Hockey League after a vote by the nine member clubs.

Stokotelny had 55 points in just 17 games in helping the Comets to the regular season title.

Matt Saler of the Minnedosa Bombers was the runner-up.

Joel Strachan of the Shoal Lake Eagles, who had just 10 penalty minutes in 18 games, was named the league’s most gentlemanly player. The runner-up was Tanner Leslie of the Miniota-Elkhorn C-Hawks.

Dillon Stonehouse of the Miniota-Elkhorn was named the top defenceman, with Shane Jury of Minnedosa the runner-up. Stonehouse finished 10th in league scoring with 36 points in 19 games.

Grandview’s Joran Hedley was selected as the league’s top rookie, with Theoren Hunter of the Shoal Lake Eagles and Curtis Oliver of Miniota-Elkhorn tying as the runner-up. Hedley had 51 points in 22 games.

Ryan Dreger of Grandview was the regular season scoring champion, with 31 goals and 31 assists for 62 points.

The Grandview netminding duo of Danny McDonald and Tim Williams of Grandview had a combined goals against average of 2.33 to take the goaltending title.
