Brent and Kirsty Oswald of Cottonwood Holsteins Ltd. received the title this year in front of a packed house on Saturday at the Elkhorn Resort in Onanole.
Brent who is currently acting vice president of Cottonwood Holsteins Ltd. is grateful for the honour and applauds his fellow nominees.
"We had very stiff competition, either of us would have been outstanding recipient of the award so it's nice to get recognized as the Outstanding Young Farmer for this year."
Both Brent and Kirsty will now represent Manitoba at the national event in Pentiction, BC later this year. Cottonwood Holsteins is a mixed dairy and grain farm based out of Steinbach.
