A total of 20 food banks in the Parkland and Southwestern Manitoba are getting a financial boost through Sunrise Credit Union.
The donation, which amounts to $1,500 per food bank, is being done as part of SCU's 15th anniversary.
Among the local food banks getting this financial gift are the Ste Rose Food Bank, Minnedosa and Area Food Bank, Erickson and area food Bank, and the Shoal Lake Food Bank.
Sunrise Credit Union President and CEO Tim Klassen says their mission is to support organizations in their communities that are dedicated to improving the lives of local families, adding they are especially grateful to be able to do that during the holiday season.
