The Western Hockey League Champion Brandon Wheat Kings have announced that they will be playing their first round playoff home games at Credit Union Place in Dauphin.

The Dauphin Kings will begin selling season tickets for their 50th season as early as this Friday and Saturday during their last two home games against the Steinbach Pistons. Tickets will be available for a special early bird price of $189 at these two games ONLY.
After Saturday prices increase to $199 until the early bird deadline of June 30th, at which point they increase to $209.
The Student Season Ticket returns at $99 and 30 game Flex Packs return at $229.
Season ticket holders this year can expect to find some one time use coupons to a number of local businesses amoung their ticket packages in honour of the Kings 50th season.

The Grandview Comets North Central Hockey League season has come to an end after a second straight 7-5 loss at the hands of the Russell Rams in their best of three playoff series.
The Comets lead 4-1 early in the second period, but the Rams responded with 5 unanswered goals to take a 6-4 lead. The Comets got back on the board in the third to make it a one goal game.
The Comets were all over the Rams in the last 1:30 but could not convert with the extra skater. The Rams added an empty net goal for insurance with 16 second left.
The Rams now face off with the Swan Valley Stampeders, while the South Division final features Miniota-Elkhorn and Moosomin. Dates have not yet been set.

The Parkland Rangers will officially make an appearance in the Manitoba Midget Hockey League post season.
The Rangers defeated the Norman Northstars 5-2 Saturday to clinch and topped them 7-2 on Sunday for good measure.
The Rangers will meet with the Winnipeg Wild in the first round. The Wild swept the season series 4-0, but the last game was the closest, decided by just one goal in a 4-3 win.
The Rangers finish the 2016-17 regular season in 8th with 40 points and an 18-22-4 record.

The Dauphin Clippers stunned the Vincent Massey Vikings 2-1 in OT in Game 1 of their Westman High School Hockey League Playoff series.
Despite being heavily outshot 47-14, the Clippers got the win.
Tyler Robak scored the game's first goal, and Riley Hammond recorded the game winner. Mason Rody made 46 saves in the win.
The Clippers now return to Credit Union Place with the advantage Saturday night in game 2. Puck drop is set for 7:30pm.

Due to recent warm weather, and poor conditions at the DRS outdoor rink the Parkland Minor Hockey Association regrettably announces that Sunday's 2nd annual outdoor female classic has been cancelled.

Dauphin is set to host this year's provincial curling championships Feb 23-25 at the Dauphin Curling Club.
As both the host boys and girls Clippers teams won Zone 8, the host spot was opened to wildcard applicants. The wildcard teams have now been selected and will have a playdown to determine who gets it. In the girls wildcard game River East faces off with Gilbert Plains, and in boys play Rivers takes on Morden.
Once the wildcards have been determined the full draw will be made sometime this weekend.
