The 2016 Baseball Canada Cup continues today in Fort McMurray.
Team Manitoba's pitching staff is bolstered by three pitchers from Dauphin. Will Hlady, Rheal Letain, and Brandon Racette, are each representing the Parkland on the provincial squad.
Racette saw some time on the mound yesterday, throwing 2.2 innings, giving up one run, and throwing one strikeout. Manitoba eventually lost the game 6-1 to Nova Scotia.
Manitoba sits in Pool B with Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, Newfoundland and Labrador, Quebec, and Prince Edward Island.
They'll play each team in their pool once during the preliminary round.
Thursday they play Newbrunswick, and Newfoundland and Labrador. Friday they play Quebec, and Saturday Manitoba ends their round robin with a game against PEI.

The Dauphin Rec Hockey League returns again this year.
Registration opens on August 1st. The early bird registration cost is $300.
Early bird registration deadline closes September 16th.
After September 16th registration increases to $350.
The season opens one month later on October 16th.
Teams will be chosen on October 1st.

Dauphin Rec Hockey League - Junior Division will have registration in the lobby of the CUP Monday August the 8th and Tuesday August the 9th from 5pm to 7pm. The League will run Wednesday's and Fridays starting in October.

The last of three Hockey Canada summer showcase camps starts today.
Forty one players are at the Team Canada National Junior Team Camp over the next week, star forward for the Brandon Wheat Kings, Nolan Patrick, is attending.
On Wednesday Team Canada travels to Plymouth for a mini tournament against Finland, Sweden and the US.
Players will be monitored throughout their CHL season and during the CHL Canada Russia Series before 22 of them are chosen for Canada's World Junior roster.
The world junior championship is held in Toronto and Montreal this year starting Boxing Day and ends with the bronze and gold medal games on January 5th.
