A tough first period saw the Kings 5 game point streak come to an end. The Kings surrendered 3 goals in the first frame and trailed 3-1 heading into the first intermission.
Daniel Chartrand scored on the power play in the first for the Kings. Riley Shamray fired a shot wide of the net from the point, the puck landed on Chartrand's stick off the end boards for the easy tap in.
After a chippy first period the second was comparatively tame and saw no scoring until the last minute when the Steelers increased their lead to 4-1 with 47.6 seconds left on the clock.
In the third period Grady Hobbs got a 10,000lb. gorilla off his back, finally scoring his first goal for the Kings. Hobbs has arguably been one of the Kings hardest working forwards this season, never taking a shift off, and was finally rewarded Saturday. His shot from below the faceoff circle beat Steelers goaltender Hayden Dola five hole to bring the Kings within two.
The Steelers scored again before the end of the game, restoring their three goal lead.
The Kings now shift their focus to the confines of Credit Union Place as they will play their next six games there before heading off to the MJHL Showcase.

The Dauphin Kings were bested 3-2 by the Winnipeg Blues in a shootout Friday night.
The Kings were the first to find the board, Matty Greening scored at the halfway mark of the first period on a delayed penalty call. Riese Gaber and Riley Shamray picked up helpers on the goal.
The Blues responded just after the five minute mark of the second period, a perfectly placed shot from Nick Prouty on the pad of Kings goalie Matteo Esposito, kicked out a rebound on to the stick of Dale Goodbrandson for the easy tap in.
The Kings regained the lead before the end of the period. Defenseman Trevor Selk made a heads-up play, realizing Ashton Clark had got behind the Blue defense on the power play unnoticed. The pass landed right on Clark's tape for an easy breakaway where he undressed Blues tender Adam Derochie. Kings goaltender Matteo Esposito also picked up an assist on the power play goal.
The Kings were 1 for 2 on the power play, and killed off all three penalties assessed to them.
In the third Rhett Lough evened the score with just over a minute left to tie the game.
In overtime the Kings had possession of the puck for most of the extra time, but were unable to solve Derochie, which included a magnificent sprawling save on Daniel Chartrand. Derochie stopped 28 shots on the night.
For the first time this season the Kings found themselves in a shootout. Dexter Kuczek scored in the second round of the shootout to give the Blues the lead. Matty Greening scored in the third round to keep the Kings alive after Riese Gaber and Keaton Leininger previously missed.
After Ashton Clark's fourth round miss Levi Cudmore was up to shoot. Cudmore had missed a few good chances in the first and second periods, and was finally able to convert in the shootout, giving the Blues the win.
Matteo Esposito was solid in net for the Kings, stopping 43 shots.
The Kings picked up a point in the loss, and marks the fifth straight game they've earned points in. Since snapping an 11 game losing streak the Kings are now 3-0-2.

The Dauphin Kings are taking their winning ways on the road this weekend. The Kings are 3-0-1 in their last four contests. They kicked off their point streak almost two weeks ago with a 2-1 win against Winnipeg.
The Blues enter tonight's game coming off a three game weekend where they posted a 1-1-1 record. Game tonight it 7:00 at the MTS Iceplex.
The Kings will be in Selkirk Saturday as they continue their weekend road trip.

Yesterday we announced Dauphin Kings forward Riese Gaber is heading to Leduc, AB as a member of Team Canada West's tryout squad. As it turns out he's not alone.
One of Gaber's Gilbert Plains neighbours will be joining him there. Winkler Flyers defenseman Tyler Jubenvill is off to Leduc, AB as well.
The two Gilbert Plains residents are amoung 60 players fighting over 22 spots available on the team.
Jubenville is a key piece on the Flyers' blue line. He's fifth on the team in scoring with 18 points (7G, 11A). His 18 points are third amoung MJHL defensemen.

Good news for Dauphin Minor Baseball players and their families. It looks like the organization will remain.
Earlier this month there were concerns that the organization would have to dissolve as the none of the current board members were returning, and they had no new applicants.
Baseball Manitoba Executive Director Morgan De Pena has said that six nominees have since stepped forward to run for board positions, which means the minimum of five will be accounted for.
An official decision about the organization's fate will be made next Wednesday.
