It may not look it, but golf is just around the corner, and the Dauphin Lake Golf Resort is getting all ready for it.

Although there is still lots of snow on the ground, Ray Karlson, General Manager wants to let everyone know that golf is the main thing the Resort is thinking about.

"Golfing is the first and foremost thing," said Karlson. "Questions have raised about a hotel, casino, RV Park and all of that in the past. But, our ownership is concentrating on the golf course. We want to make it an extreme success, so everyone can enjoy."

As far as new comes to the start of the season, there won't be much, but Ray is hoping that will change soon.

"I would love to open new holes, but, we're going to have to wait until at least late-summer to entertain that thought," said Karlson. "There's some grooming and finishing that needs to be done, and we have a plan for it. Everyone loves new, and it would be really neat if we can get to that point this summer."

Once again this season, Ladies Night will take over the course most of Tuesday night, and Men's Night takes place on Wednesday night, but other than that, the course is wide open for your enjoyment.

"In the past, some of the other nights were booked up with more leagues, but we've changed that," said Karlson. "We want everyone who is going to buy a membership, or pay a green fee to know that the course is going to be more open than ever."

Whether you're thinking of getting a membership or not, Ray guarantees the Dauphin Lake Golf Resort is a great place to be.

"It's a flat, links-style course but it definitely has it's challenges," said Karlson. "It's a very playable course, but you can get in some trouble too. We also have a great restaurant and our chef is back. You can sit out on the deck and overlook the lake, and there's not a ton of courses out there that you can do that."

If you'd like to buy a membership, you can call 638-9400, or visit the Golf Resort Monday-Friday from 9-5.
