For the second night in a row, the Dauphin Kings started out slow, but improved throughout the game, but ended up falling, 4-1 against the Winkler Flyers on Saturday night in Winkler.

It was the Brennan Kitchen show early on, as the star goaltender turned away more than a dozen shots as the Flyers jumped out to a 13-0 lead on the shot clock. After continued relentless pressure throughout the opening 20, the Flyers scored the games first goal at 14:28, and increased their lead to 2-0 at 19:19.

No goals were scored in the second, and the Flyers tacked on two more in the third. Just when the game looked to be over, the Kings ramped up their offence, firing several shots towards the Flyers goaltender, but he made some clutch saves, and got some luck from the crossbar, as Mason Fischer ringed two off the goaltenders best friend.

The Kings did end up picking up a goal at 19:49 of the third, as Ian Briscoe, scored his first as a King this season and increased his point streak to two games since joining the team yesterday in Portage.

The Kings will now get several days off, before welcoming Neepawa to town next Friday for Parent and Pride Night at Credit Union Place, and puck drop is set for 7:30.
