It won't be long before the Junior Varsity Girls Dauphin Clippers volleyball team are in action.

They held their tryouts on August 30 and 31, in which over 30 girls attended.

"We're down to about 20 girls now," said Ted Rea, Head Coach of the team. "We have one more practice tomorrow, and by Monday we should have our team all set up for the season."

Ray notes that tryouts were very competitive, and it will be tough when he decides who will make the final roster.

After making the final roster, the team will hit the court to begin practicing before taking part in their home tournament on September 22 and 23 at the DRCSS.

"I think we're going to do very well this year," said Rea. "My goal is to win provincials with this team. The core group of grade 10's on this team played together last year, and we competed against older teams and did very well. I'm expecting big things from them this year, and I know they are wanting to perform well."

The team's regular season will start up in early October.
