It's September 6 and well over two weeks since the Everett Silvertips began their training camp, which is a good thing for Dauphin's Mark Liwiski, as he continues to battle it out in Everett in trying to get a spot on the team come the regular season.
"It's going pretty good so far. We've been working out and practicing every day," said Liwiski. "We have a few exhibition games coming up this weekend, against the Vancouver Giants and Prince George Cougars in BC."
As the preseason continues to dwindle away, players will continue to be cut, and as Liwiski notes, he knows that one forward, and two or three defensemen will be released.
"It's hard to say if I will have a spot on the team come the regular season, but I'm just going to keep battling it out and hope for the best," said Liwiski. "I'm playing well, I'm working hard. It's about knowing your role and buying into the system."
In two preseason games so far as a part of the Silvertips, Liwiski is a plus one.
