For most 12-year-olds, the summer is about hanging out with friends and enjoying life. For Brooke White, she is doing that and so much more as she will be representing Manitoba this weekend, at the U14 Western Canadian Championships, in Kamloops.

White plays her ball in the Ste.Rose Minor Baseball Association, and will now take the next step in her baseball career as she will play with some of the best young female baseball players in Western Canada.

"It's an honour to be able to represent Manitoba at the Western Canadian Championships," said White. "Hopefully we can make Manitoba proud, and bring back the gold.

White and the rest of team Manitoba kick off their Championships this afternoon at 3:00 p.m. (BC time), against Saskatchewan, before taking on Alberta and BC tomorrow.

Before White got fully prepared for the team's game against Saskatchewan, she had two more things to say.

"I would like to thank all of my sponsors," said White. "And if you work hard, you can do anything."

You can stay tuned here to 730CKDM.com, all weekend long to see how Brooke and the rest of Manitoba do at the Western Canadian Championships.
